Why Salvation?
Hebrews 9:27
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
Every man will stand before God in judgment. Those who have by faith received Christ will not be condemned because their names are in His book of Life. Those who have not trusted in His death on the cross as satisfaction for their sins are condemned already and they will be cast into the lake of fire and tormented both day and night throughout all eternity. For they have separated themselves from the love of God and the wrath of God abides on them.
John 3:18
He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
Revelation 20:15
And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
John 3:36
He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
Where can we find Salvation?
Salvation is in a person - Jesus Christ. It is by His death and life that we are saved. It is not in religion, a church, good works, or anything else. Salvation is in Christ and Christ alone.
Acts 4:12
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
When should we get Saved?
God said to the rich man in Luke 12:20…
But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?
James 4:14 tells us life is both short and uncertain.
Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
As 2 Corinthians 6:2 clearly tells us…
…behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.
Do not wait until it is too late. Now is the time.
How can I get Saved?
God has made salvation simple. It is available through faith in Christ. However, it is not necessarily easy, because we must repent. Our pride often makes this difficult. Repentance is a change of mind that God’s Holy Spirit initiates in us whereby He brings us to the realization that we are guilty before God. It produces an abandoning of self, a turning to God and a casting of our selves fully upon Christ as our only way and hope of deliverance.
John 14:6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Salvation is a free gift available to all, but forced on no one. A person is saved by simply receiving by faith the gift of salvation that has been provided in Christ. To become a Christian one needs only to trust in what Christ has done for him.
Acts 16:31
…Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
If one truly believes and God saves him, he should confess Christ openly.
Romans 10:9-10
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Who needs to get Saved?
The Bible tells us that "there is none righteous, no not one" (Rom. 3:10). "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God" (Rom. 3:23). The Scriptures have concluded “all under sin” (Gal. 3:22). We are told in Rom. 5:12 that when Adam, the father of the human race, sinned we also became sinners and were separated from God by our inherited sinful nature.
Romans 5:12
Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
Therefore, everyone must be saved or they will be eternally separated from a Holy God.
What is Salvation?
Salvation is a faith transaction whereby our sins are put away by Christ and His righteousness is transferred to us.
2 Corinthians 5:21
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
Isaiah 53:5-6
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
Salvation is a product of God’s grace (favor that cannot be merited) that is available and accessible through faith in Christ.
Ephesians 2:8-9
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Romans 5:2
By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
Salvation is a Transaction...
Whereby we are purchased by God...
1 Corinthians 6:20
For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
Whereby we become God’s...
1 Corinthians 6:19
What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
And His Spirit comes to live in us...
Romans 8:9
But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
To seal our salvation...
Ephesians 1:13
In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise,
Until the redemption of His purchased possession.
Ephesians 1:14
“Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.”
Will you accept God’s free gift to you today? Now is the time. Christ is the solution. You can access the wonderful gift of salvation through repentance and faith and begin a new relationship with your God and Creator. The way of salvation is plain. The plan of salvation is simple, but there is much to hinder one from finding the way and following the plan. Satan deceives, man imagines he can work it out, but short of repentance and without faith, it is impossible to come to Christ.
Pray now for God’s enabling grace to believe and turn to Christ. To delay is foolish. Now is the time. Come to Christ now for deliverance and eternal life or stand before Him later condemned to eternal damnation.
Hebrews 9:27
