Summer camps are the height of our camp ministry. Throughout the day, from one end of the campground to the other, attractions call campers to try their hand. Campers experience a precarious tree-top perch at the high-elements challenge course, test their muscles and reflexes at the batting cages, wander through the giant maze, speed down the sky glide, and splash into the cool water at the lakefront.
The Junior and Primary camp schedule and activities are carefully organized with young campers in mind. During Junior Sports and Skill Time, campers learn the procedures and rules of a game. Counselors direct coordination-building exercises and teach sportsmanship.
During the Teen Camp Iron Man competition, adrenaline starts pumping as competitors hustle through the obstacle course, strain their muscles at the shot-put, dash through the cross-country race, and paddle furiously to finish the canoe race first.
At Family Camp, everyone is welcome to enjoy the various attractions. Down at The Bog on our ropes course, the low elements are fun and safe for young children, while teens and adults enjoy the thrill of the high elements. Later, Mom and Dad may canoe out to the camp’s private island or hike to Lookout Point while teens play paintball and counselors care for young children at the playground or jumping castle.
Because reaching hearts is so important, Camp Joy has developed a fabulous facility where anyone can unwind, have fun in a safe environment and be refreshed by the Word of God. All this and a strong spiritual emphasis, too. Camp Joy is Fun with a Purpose!
